Regents hear MCJ proposal, discuss transfer program. The members of the University of Colorado Board of Regents heard a proposal to add a Master of Criminal Justice to UCCS degree offerings and highlighted a community college transfer program Thursday. (More)

Faculty asked to endorse general education goals. UCCS Faculty Assembly representatives want campus faculty to vote on proposed General Education goals. (More)

Photo of the Week: Motorcade leads WTC beam to Cheyenne Mountain. An official ceremony Friday morning to transfer a beam from New York's World Trade Center from UCCS to Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station drew members of the CU Board of Regents in addition to campus faculty and staff and area law enforcement and fire representatives. Commencement scheduled for Dec. 17. An estimated 500 fall graduates will participate in commencement ceremonies scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Colorado Springs World Arena, 3185 Venetucci Boulevard. (More)

Holiday festivities scheduled. Faculty and staff should mark calendars in anticipation of annual campus holiday festivities on campus and in the community Dec. 4 and 7. (More)

Students join president emeritus Brown in U.S. Capitol visit. Five UCCS students joined students from CU Boulder and Hank Brown, president emeritus, on a trip to the U.S. Capitol Building Nov. 11-13. (More)

Time running out on license plate discount. Twelve days remain for faculty, staff, students and alumni to save $25 when purchasing a UCCS-emblazoned vehicle license plate. By pre-ordering, faculty and staff can save regardless of license-renewal deadlines. (More)

Filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman to share movies, career. Lloyd Kaufman, president of Troma and creator of "The Toxic Avenger" will visit UCCS Nov. 18 and 19 to host screenings and to share his thoughts on independent film making. (More)

Faculty honored for contributions to local economy. Terry Boult, El Pomar Chair of Innovation and Security, Michael Larson, El Pomar Chair of Engineering and Innovation and associate vice chancellor for research and innovation, and Jesse McClure, senior assistant research faculty, Engineering, were honored Monday by the Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corp. and Peak Venture Group. Morreale wins distinguished service award. Sherry Morreale, assistant professor, Communication, received the Samuel L. Becker Distinguished Service Award from the National Communication Association this week during the NCA's annual convention in San Francisco. (More)
