Beth-El opens nutrition clinic to aid campus health. The 50-year-old man who visited the newest outreach efforts of the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences had a specific goal in mind when he came to the Peak Nutrition Clinic at University Hall. (More)

Staff show true colors at meeting. The presentation at the UCCS Staff Council meeting Nov. 12 made some of the staff blue, but not unhappy. (More)

Flu shots available; free for many. Kaiser-Permanente subscribers received a bonus this week that could ward off the sniffles, sneezes and other unpleasant symptoms of the flu. (More)

Photo of the Week: Veterans Day. Thursday morning brought a chill as faculty, staff and students recognized America's veterans with a formal presentation of U.S., Colorado and POW-MIA flags by the UCCS ROTC unit. They also heard a powerful rendition of the national anthem by Adam Blancas, a UCCS senior. (More)

CU Regents coming to town. The nine-member CU Board of Regents will conduct its regular meeting Nov. 18-19 at Berger Hall in the University Center. The regents are the elected governing board for CU. Its meetings are open to the public and will be attended by members of all three CU campuses. To see the meeting agenda, visit www.cu.edu/regents/BoardMeetings/index.html.

CU branding guidelines nearly complete. CU officials hope to roll out a new branding effort by the end of this semester, with a goal of more coordination and consistency, especially in visual images. Recycled gets recommendation. It's easy being green. Beginning this month, UCCS departments are strongly encouraged to use paper that has at least 30 percent recycled content. (More)

Kudos

Kenny selected as nursing fellow. Deborah Kenny, associate dean, Beth-El College of Nursing, will be inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing during the academy's annual meeting and conference Nov. 13 in Washington. (More)

Blood drive nets record 207 pints. An Oct. 26 and 27 campus blood drive resulted in 207 pints donated to Memorial Hospital's blood bank, according to drive co-organizer Julie Brewster, controller, Resource Management. (More)
