Chancellor assures high-quality education in Q-and-A session. With questions that ranged from sewer gasses to next year's tuition rates, UCCS students met with Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak Wednesday to find out more about the university's future. (More)

Colorado Supreme Court to hear concealed carry case. The Colorado Supreme Court will hear arguments about the legality of campus gun bans, including CU's, court officials announced Monday. (More)

SBDC gravity run send racers downhill. The Small Business Development Center at UCCS will host a 5K/10K fun run, the first Small Business Gravity run, Oct. 30. (More)

New GOCA show opens at both galleries. A public reception for a new exhibit at the Gallery of Contemporary Art will be 5-8 p.m. Nov. 4 at GOCA1420 on campus and 6-9 p.m. Nov. 5 at GOCA 121 at 121 S. Tejon. (More)

Chemistry to host cancer colloquium. A professor of pharmaceutical sciences at CU Denver will explain his breast cancer research in a UCCS Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Colloquium Oct. 26. (More)

PPCC, UCCS leaders to share views. Cliff Richardson, interim president, Pikes Peak Community College, and UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak will share their views about the state of public higher education at a Nov. 3 luncheon. (More)

Fit in 15. Think you don't have time to get in shape? Think again. A UCCS graduate student and National Conditioning and Strength Association staff member showed Denver television viewers that it doesn't take a lot of time or fancy equipment to get in shape. See the video. (More)

Eat, drink, and give blood The annual UCCS Halloween Blood Drive, in cooperation with Memorial Hospital, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27 in UC 116. All blood types are needed. (More)

Magazine names UCCS to military friendly list. UCCS is one of the nation's top military-friendly colleges and universities, according to the editors of "Military Advanced Education," a monthly magazine directed at active duty members of the armed forces. (More)

John C. Miller, professor emeritus, Languages and Cultures, recently returned to Gaziantep University, Turkey, under a U.S. State Department English Language Fellow grant. (More)

Greg Plett, associate professor, Engineering, was recently profiled in a CU System newsletter feature "Five Questions." (More)

Who's New/Changes

Kelly Banet, Colorado Springs, recently joined the CU Foundation as an assistant director of development. She will be responsible for fundraising for UCCS intercollegiate athletics and the annual alumni giving campaign. (More)
