WTC beam unveiled before crowd. Amid waving U.S. flags commemorating those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, formal ownership of a 750 pound piece of New York's World Trade Center was transferred to representatives of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Station early Friday afternoon. (More)

First College of Education endowed professorship named in Swaby honor. A recently completed $500,000 private fundraising campaign will ensure a legacy of literacy established by Barbara Swaby, professor, Education, continues in perpetuity. (More)

Campus can see "Psycho" for less. Faculty, staff, students and alumni can celebrate Halloween with a one-performance discount to the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Oct. 30. (More)

Town hall meeting scheduled for Oct. 29. President Bruce Benson and Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak will host a town hall meeting to discuss critical issues facing the university beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 29 the University Center Theater. Benson will provide an overview of state and university budgets, the 2011 legislative session and other topics. A question and answer session will follow. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.

Campus celebrates National Coming Out Day. A candlelight vigil Thursday night on the University Center Upper Plaza honored the lives of those who committed suicide after being harassed about their sexuality as part of National Coming Out Day celebrations at UCCS. (More)

FDC to present parenting workshop. Techniques for improved teaching and parenting will be shared at an Oct. 30 workshop sponsored by the Family Development Center. (More)

Colorado Combined Campaign kicks off Tuesday. The 2010 Colorado Combined Campaign will launch with a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 19 in University Center room 303 that promises free food, prizes, fun, and games. (More)

Edie Greene named CUNY visiting scholar. Edie Greene, professor, Psychology, was recently appointed a visiting scholar at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. (More)

Faculty researchers lauded in campus event. Six UCCS faculty members were recognized for their sponsored research productivity during a Celebration of Research program Thursday afternoon sponsored by the Office of Sponsored Research. (More)
