Heller Center opens to fanfare. Ferried by private car from main campus to keep dust and noise to a minimum, campus community members got to peek at the newest addition to UCCS this week, the Heller Center for Arts and Humanities. (More)

Academic/athletic combination puts UCCS atop new ranking. Athletic programs at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs are in the top one-third of NCAA Division II programs in the nation when success on and off the playing field is calculated, according to the author of a new study. (More)

Report outlines campus crime concerns. Thefts and burglaries are significant problems at UCCS, according to a recently issued report. (More)

Tuition plans are placeholders. A request that Colorado colleges and universities submit tuition plans in advance of action by the Colorado General Assembly generated news coverage this week but should not cause concern among UCCS students or family members who might help pay bills. (More)

FDC earns grant to help low-income students. Current and future students at UCCS may be eligible for assistance with child-care expenses, according to the terms of a four-year $186,000 federal grant (More)

Human nervous system subject for math lecture. An explanation of the 100 billion neurons and 200 trillion connections that make up the human central nervous system will be shared Oct. 14 as part of the Second Annual Distinguished Math Lecture. (More)

Cops, coffee and 180 doughnuts draw crowd. Faculty and staff added to their knowledge of work undertaken by Campus Police officers and their waistlines Wednesday during an annual event organized by the Department of Public Safety. (More)
