Announcements/Features

Enrollment is largest ever. Student enrollment at UCCS this fall is the highest in the university's history with almost 9,000 students enrolled, university officials announced Sept. 14. (More)

Cool Science Festival comes to campus. More than 5,000 budding scientists and science enthusiasts are expected on campus Saturday for the Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival. (More)

UCCS pride on display. University Advancement, in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Revenue, will launch a program where those who want to display their affinity can purchase an auto license plate displaying the UCCS logo and also contribute to a student scholarship fund. (More)

Global poverty focus of women's symposium. A panel of prominent woman leaders will discuss how global poverty issues affect the lives of girls in a Sept. 29 symposium. (More)

Flu shots available Monday. The Student Health Center will have a flu shot clinic beginning at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 20 in the Department of Public Safety's training room. (More)

Campus to mark its territory with new sign. There will soon be no mistaking when visitors enter UCCS territory. (More)

Housing students get high-level help. Students living in Alpine Village were treated to a gourmet meal with wait staff representing the highest level of university administrators Wednesday night. (More)

Clyde's almost ready to pounce. A new entertainment venue for faculty, staff, students and visitors to UCCS will officially open for business Sept. 28. (More)

New year for Faculty Assembly. UCCS Faculty Representative Assembly heard the chancellor, discussed proposed changes in class schedules, and learned about green commencement gowns at its Sept. 10 meeting. (More)

Kudos

Gallogly earns gold for efficiency and innovation. The Gallogly Events Center at UCCS earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council this week. (More)

Rebecca Laroche, associate professor, English, recently published "Authority and Englishwomen's Herbal Texts, 1550–1650." The book was published by Ashgate Publishing, Surrey, England.
