New health insurance rates published; enrollment encouraged. Rates for CU benefits plans were made available this week, allowing faculty and staff to complete enrollment by a 5 p.m. May 21 deadline. (More)
Year in Review casts glance at future. While the university's finances over the next 14 months remains a top priority, UCCS should celebrate its progress during the 2009-2010 academic year, Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak told campus deans, directors and department chairs this week. (More)
Business enterprise offers campus potential. UCCS can use its facilities to help boost the campus budget, Susan Szpyrka, senior associate vice chancellor, Administration and Finance, told those who attended a Wednesday all-campus forum. (More)
Legislative acts affect PERA contributions. Brian Burnett, vice chancellor, Administration and Finance, and Cindy Corwin, director, Human Resources, met with the executive board of Staff Council this week to explain legislative changes affecting university employees who are members of the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association. Campus gets Googled. A professional triker from Google spent Tuesday riding the campus on a three-wheeled cycle carrying 250 pounds of sophisticated camera equipment to capture street-level images for the Street View feature of Google maps. (More)
Nurses celebrate. Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences students commemorated National Nurses Week by decorating faculty offices with inspirational sayings as well as light-hearted thanks and balloons.(More)
International visitor studies English and culture. A member of the Croatian Parliament is visiting UCCS May 2 to June 26 to participate in an English as a second language and American culture course. (More)
Free workshops offer business insight. The Small Business Development Center at UCCS is offering several business training workshops free to staff, faculty, and students and some at minimal cost, every month. (More)

Dean emerita wins Nightingale Award. Carole Schoffstall, dean emerita, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, is a recipient of the prestigious Nightingale Award for Human Caring for 2010. (More)
