Provost meets with faculty to discuss interim dean, search. Provost Peg Bacon met with faculty and staff members in the College of Education this week to discuss plans for an interim dean of the College of Education as well as search plans for a permanent replacement for La Vonne Neal. (More)
Branding initiative endorsed, adopted by Board of Regents. The University of Colorado Board of Regents last week unanimously passed a resolution that "adopts and endorses" the university's branding initiative. (More)
Medal of Freedom winner to headline Women's Leadership Symposium. A winner of the United States' highest civilian honor and widely known management expert will be the keynote speaker at the 2010 Women's Leadership Symposium Saturday at UCCS. (More)
Awards ceremony comes to ballroom. The 2010 Campus Awards Ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. May 4 in the University Center Ballroom, the first time the new venue will be used for the traditional campus spring event. (More)
Final forum set for May 5. The final all-campus Chancellor's Forum for the spring semester will feature an update on a campus enterprise initiative. The forum is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. May 5 in the University Center Theater. All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. (More)
College of Education offers Youth University academic camp. Instead of canoeing, swimming, crafts and other traditional summer camp activities, children ages six through eleven will have the opportunity to improve skills in math, science, reading and writing in a one week UCCS academic camp June 21-25. Breast cancer risk factors differ among races. A new study led by Lisa Hines, assistant professor, Biology, finds that factors known to increase the risk of breast cancer among white women have less influence in Hispanic women. (More)
Health care remains a faculty concern. The UCCS Faculty Representative Assembly unanimously passed a motion regarding CU health plans at its April 9 meeting. (More)

Dunckley is Employee of Quarter. Elyse Dunckley, financial manager, National Institute of Science, Space and Security Centers earned the Employee of the Quarter award this term. (More)
Staff member to address National Press Club. A UCCS educator whose background includes providing legal counsel to senior military authorities will address the National Press Club on legal issues affecting U.S. national security. (More)
