Galloglys gather for center naming. Campus benefactor Jim Gallogly gave more than his family's name permanently affixed on a UCCS building Wednesday afternoon. (More)

Bruce E. Shepard to receive Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award. Recognizing the importance of the Pikes Peak region's long history of visionary entrepreneurs, the UCCS College of Business will honor entrepreneur and community activist Bruce E. Shepard at an April 30 campus luncheon. (More)

Awards ceremony comes to ballroom. The 2010 Campus Awards Ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. May 4 in the University Center Ballroom, the first time the new venue will be used for the traditional campus spring event. (More)

Open enrollment begins next week. Open enrollment for the 2010-11 plan year begins at 8 a.m. Monday, April 26, and ends at 5 p.m. May 21.(More)

Streetcar discussion comes to campus. A feasibility study discussion of streetcars as public transportation will come to UCCS beginning at 5:30 p.m. April 26 at the University Center. (More)

Colorado Math Olympiad celebrates 27th year. More than 300 middle and high school students from around the state will be at UCCS today for the 27th Colorado Math Olympiad. (More)

Medal of Freedom winner to headline UCCS Women's Leadership . A winner of the United States' highest civilian honor and widely known management expert will be the keynote speaker at the 2010 Women's Leadership Symposium May 1. (More)

Security training remains a concern. CU System campuses are implementing processes to raise awareness of computer information privacy and security. Failure to complete the training could result in the loss of computing privileges. Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak recently issued an updated memo on the subject to the campus community. (More)

Eye candy. "Free Candy," the UCCS Senior Art Exhibition, opens today at GOCA 1420 (campus gallery) and features the work of 11 students working in sculpture, drawing, painting, digital media, video and photography. The exhibit highlights the work of graduating seniors from the Department of Visual and Performing Arts and will continue through May 21. http://www.galleryuccs.org/exhibits/2010/free-candy

Picture of the week. Roar Daze began the week with a campus carnival featuring food, games and ice cream. Festivities organized by the Office of Student Activities continued throughout the week culminating with a concert by 3OH!3 Thursday night. (More)
