Announcements

CU announces budget-balancing measures. The University of Colorado system Wednesday announced a proposed $22 million package of budget-balancing measures for fiscal year 2010-11, the second round of a two-year process. (More)

College of Business accreditation renewed. The UCCS College of Business maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International following a rigorous review of the college's courses, faculty and strategic plans. (More)

Faculty profiled by Science Magazine. The work of two UCCS professors in the study of human memory is featured in the April 9 edition of Science Magazine, the publication of The American Association for the Advancement of Science. (More)

ISIS arrives. UCCS students will use a new registration system for fall 2010 and campus project team members are making every effort to anticipate and address possible difficulties and help students with this transition. (More)

Get healthy, stay well. A health fair featuring free screenings for common health issues as well as presentations by various vendors will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 in the University Center Ballroom. A blood donation drive is also planned. For more information, contact Stephanie Hanenberg, director, Student Health Center, shanenbe@uccs.edu or 255-4449.

Water line work continues. The Cragmor water line project, which created holes on either side of Meadow Lane and behind Cragmor Hall, is halfway complete, according to Facilities Services. (More)

Campus contributes to relief efforts. An April 3 UCCS event to raise understanding and gather resources for humanitarian relief in Haiti and Chile generated $1,240, according to Kee Warner, associate vice chancellor for diversity and inclusiveness. The event featured performances by current and former students in the University Center Ballroom.

Photo of the Week. As part of a campus initiative, candidates for governor will visit UCCS over the next several months. The first candidate, Scott McInnis, Glenwood Springs, visited campus April 7 and met with campus leaders in Cragmor Hall. McInnis is the Republican candidate. (More)
