Forum highlights campus budget challenge. Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak began her update on the UCCS budget with her presentation's conclusion. (More)

Health plans likely to change little; costs unknown. Most changes to health plans offered to university employees will take place behind the scenes this year, E. Jill Pollock, senior associate vice president and chief human resource officer, CU System, told UCCS faculty and staff Thursday. (More)

CU Regents approve modest tuition increase for UCCS students. Undergraduate students at UCCS will pay an additional $420-$450 per year in tuition costs beginning next fall, according to plans approved Monday by the CU Board of Regents. (More)

Astronaut, UCCS alum to inspire undergraduates from local colleges. One of the most famous UCCS alumni will provide the keynote address for students from UCCS, the United States Air Force Academy and Colorado College participating in an undergraduate research forum. (More)

Summit to address aging population. More than 150 leaders from the business, education, government and nonprofit sectors will gather April 7 at the Pikes Peak Center for a first-of-its-kind day-long summit focused on making the Colorado Springs region a great place to age. (More)

Gallogly Events Center dedication set. A formal dedication ceremony and reception honoring the members of the Gallogly family is scheduled for 5 p.m. April 21 at the Gallogly Events Center. (More)

Local Republicans to rent campus space. The El Paso County Republican Party will have its county assembly meetings on campus April 10, according to Susan Szpyrka, associate vice chancellor, Administration and Finance. (More)

Photo of the week. U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, D- Colorado, visited campus Tuesday. He received a briefing on the Bachelor of Innovation program and a tour of the Science & Engineering Building. He met with reporters at Mind Studios. (More)

All 47 UCCS students from the College of Education’s Department of Counseling and Human Services who recently took a national comprehensive exam passed it, according to David Fenell, professor, Education. News of the 100 percent pass rate was supplemented by information that UCCS students scored above the national mean on the exam.

Two additional employees joined UCCS in March. They are:

• Carla Jean Jaeger, program coordinator, Ethics Initiative, College of Business, effective March 29.
• Bradley Hudson, structural trades, University Center, effective March 24.
