Undergraduate and graduate students will receive their degrees at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 at the World Arena.
To make that process go smoothly and to create a memorable event for students and their families, volunteers are needed.
Volunteers will each be assigned a task, such as ushering, handing out programs and assisting guests. Those interested in helping or who already have specific tasks through their own colleges or departments should respond to Tina Collins, assistant, Office of the Dean of Students, so Collins can make a complete, accurate list of volunteers. Those signing up will receive a detailed information packet with assignments and specific details in a few weeks.
"We need lots of energetic staff members to cover all the duties," said Collins.
Those who participate in what she called a "fun celebration of student achievement" provide a vital service to the university. Collins said she hopes all previous volunteers sign up again, and newcomers are welcome as well.
Collins also said staff members who are graduating this year should contact her so her office can reserve seating for their guests.
Contact Collins at tcollins@uccs.edu or call 255-3258 for further details.
