Colorado Springs’ economy recovering but not quickly. Colorado Springs’ economy is in recovery and in better shape than the U.S. as a whole, according to College of Business faculty who presented at a downtown hotel ballroom packed with community leaders this morning. (More)

Staff interaction key to student success. The Professional Exempt Staff Association welcomed Kee Warner, associate vice chancellor for diversity and inclusiveness, and Anthony Cordova, director, Multicultural Office for Student Access, Inclusiveness and Community, to its Oct. 21 meeting. (More)

Noble looks back on 38 years at UCCS. As a UCCS student in the mid-1970s, Lee Noble remembers watching students ride horses to class. (More)

Blood DriveMore than 100 donate blood in Halloween drive. There were no ghoulish creatures at the annual Halloween blood drive Wednesday and Thursday. (More)

Senators introduce legislation to expand Troops to Teachers Program. Two U.S. senators and three U.S. representatives introduced legislation this week that could expand a program that helps members of the Armed Forces become K-12 teachers. (More)

Calling all veterans. Participants for an afternoon program to educate children about the contributions of veterans are sought. (More)

Integrated Student Information System project positions campus for future. Three milestones in a CU System-wide project to upgrade, replace and expand student information systems were recently reached. Updates will appear regularly in Communique. (More)SIS Timeline

Kudos

Students in the UCCS Professional Golf Management program finished fourth in the 2009 Jones Cup competition Oct. 14 in Port St. Lucie, Fla. A total of 100 golfers from 20 teams participated in the 36-hole competition.
