University Relations

Volume 52, Issue 1

December 5, 2008

Dear Campus Faculty and Staff:

The University of Colorado is committed to maintaining a positive learning, working and living environment. The University does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, creed, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status in admission and access to, and treatment and employment in, its educational programs and activities. Laws of the Regents, Article 10.

In furtherance of Regent Law, the UCCS campus has now completed its Discrimination Procedures which describe the process for faculty, students and staff to file complaints of discrimination. These procedures set forth both formal and informal options for individuals who believe they have been discriminated against in violation of Regent Law. The procedures will be added to the Human Resources website but are attached for your immediate review. I am also including a link to the Sexual Harassment Policy which contains information about the university’s sexual harassment policy.

I am requesting that faculty and staff familiarize themselves with the discrimination procedures and the sexual harassment policy and inform students about these important safeguards.

Sincerely,

Pam Shockley-Zalabak
Chancellor
