Business Journal lauds College of Business in campus fete

Colorado Springs Business Journal

Readers of the Colorado Springs Business Journal voted the UCCS as having the best business school in Colorado as well as the best place to earn a master’s of business administration degree.

Best of Colorado SpringsMore than 47,000 votes in 98 categories were cast in the fifth year of the “Best of Colorado Springs Business” balloting. This is the fourth year that the UCCS College of Business was recognized.

Announced at a July 23 campus reception for community and business leaders, Business Journal Publisher LonMatejczyk lauded UCCS and the other organizations for earning the accolades of their customers.

UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak credited College of Business faculty and staff for creating an environment where students can be successful and for delivering high-quality education that is relevant to today’s issues.

When asked what makes the college special, Venkat Reddy, dean, College of Business, responded:

“Our vision -- we are in the business of building successful futures. Our people -- internationally recognized faculty, service-oriented staff, highly qualified student body and our outstanding alumni. Our programs -- innovations such as the Professional Golf Management, Bachelor’s of Innovation and our Sport Management among others; and of course our state-of-the-art facilities.”

In its Best Colorado Business School category, the Business Journal cited as examples of innovation the UCCS distance MBA program which allows on-line degree completion as well as a Bachelor of Innovation program which combines courses in business and engineering. In the Best Colorado School for an MBA category, the Business Journal cited the newly remodeled Dwire Hall as providing a positive environment for students.
