Key positions in the Division of Student Success will be filled with new personnel in the next few weeks as part of a reorganization announced by Robert Wonnett, vice chancellor, Student Success.
Benek Altayli, director, Counseling Center. In July, Altayli will replace Dixie Vandeputte. Vandeputte retired June 1. Altayli previously worked for the CU Aging Center.
Brad Bayer, executive director, Student Life and Leadership. In July Bayer will direct the activities of Campus Life and Campus Activities as well as provide oversight for the Chancellor’s Leadership Class. Bayer previously worked in the Cherry Creek School District as an activities director, assistant principal and principal. He replaces Mary Yates who will transfer to part-time work within the College of Education and the Student Affairs in Higher Education graduate program.
An additional position will be filled in coming weeks, Wonnett said. A search committee will be formed to conduct a campus search for the executive director of student support and judicial affairs. The executive director position is part of a restructuring of duties previously assigned to the Office of the Dean of Students.
“This reorganization of services and support in the Student Success Division will position UCCS to expand student services and focus our energies on enhancing the quality of our students' academic and social experience,” Wonnett said.
