UCCS & PPCC sign joint engineering agreement. Engineering students at UCCS and Pikes Peak Community College can now enroll concurrently at both schools. The engineering concurrent program allows students the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in a timely manner and have access to UCCS amenities such as engineering labs, the Kraemer Family Library and a new recreation center. Ensuring safety a priority. Keeping campus safe for faculty, staff, students and visitors is a priority, Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak says in a memo reminding the campus of a March 28 event that will bring emergency responders from throughout the area to campus. (More)

President to visit campus. CU President Bruce Benson will visit campus April 8, his first campus visit since being named president. A schedule of events is under construction and will be shared when it is available.

Not just any mountain lion. An 18 month-old, 165-pound male mountain lion visited students, faculty and staff today in the UCCS gym. No ordinary mountain lion; he is the new, live UCCS mascot. (More)

 

 

Candidate to visit. Mary Nies, assistant vice president of health sciences, State University of New York, Stony Brook, will make a campus presentation at 1:45 p.m. March 31 in University Hall 109. She is a candidate for the position of dean, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences. (More)

Stolen laptop prompts student alert. A university laptop stolen from a staff member’s locked car this week prompted an e-mail to current UCCS students from Jerry Wilson, director, Information Technology. (More)

Red a springtime color. A Spring Blood Drive is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 8 in the University Center Gymnasium. Donors are needed. Contact Brad Bailey, accountant, Resource Management, 262-3397, for details.
