Spring 2008 enrollment tops 7,300

More than 7,300 students enrolled at UCCS for the Spring 2008 semester, an almost 2 percent increase from a year ago, according to statistics released Friday.

Randall Langston, director, Admissions Services, reported that 7,310 students were enrolled as of Feb. 6, the official census date for the semester. For the Spring 2007 semester, 7,192 students were enrolled.

“The fall to spring retention this year is an excellent indicator of the high quality of the students and the efforts of faculty and staff to help them succeed in and out of the classroom,” Langston said.

Barb Gaddis, director, Student Retention, said 88 percent of students who enrolled at UCCS this fall were retained for the spring semester, among the best retention rates in recent history.
